 POSTPARTUM DOULA TRAINING

A postpartum doula provides help to the new mom and partner during their transition into parenthood. The duties are similar to the antepartum doula and includes helping with infant feeding and care, household organization, meal preparation, care of older sibling(s), running errands, and providing companionship.

 What will you receive when attending this doula training?

THIS TRAINING CONSISTS OF:
27 hours of doula classroom training including how
to care for mother/bab
y/families during the immediate postpartum period, baby care skills, postpartum mood disorders, ideas of starting up a new business and so much more!
3 hours of breastfeeding education

DONA International Postpartum Doula Certification Requirements

You will provide postpartum support to 3 families and get 6 evaluations completed. (2 evaluations are required for each family, one from mother and from another support person in home) Click HERE for certification requirements, instructions, and guidelines. After completing the requirements, all certification paperwork will be sent to DONA.  Your certification will be awarded by DONA International.

The doula training includes all required educational hours to become a trained postpartum doula. The school will try to connect the new doulas with other community doulas, if available. Once the student has completed the training, she/he can start attending births for pay or volunteer while working on certification.

 Once the doula completes the certification process, she/he will be eligible to apply to become a Tricare approved doula provider and currently in 20 States, a Medicaid approved doula provider.

Military spouses who use MYCAA must contact
the ABP Doula Training Center for their ETP.


Effective October 1, 2023, the Inclusive Postpartum Doula Training is no longer available.
